In our spectral x-ray radiographic imaging experiments, we employ various detectors, provided by MULTIX and ADVACAM) to study physical phenomena in material science, food science (e.g. foreign object detection in meat products), airport security (threat item detection in luggage) and life science (e.g. growth of barley seeds). These research activities are strongly tied to our activities in the 3D Imaging Center.
Furthermore, based on experimental data, we develop spectral detector correction algorithms (for detector pixel cross-talk, volumetric photon scattering) to improve detection and study results in the application scenarios mentioned above.
